ICC took a big decision on Newlands Test pitch report. This is the same pitch on which the second test match between India and South Africa was played. This stadium is in Cape Town city of South Africa. The test match which was supposed to last for five days was limited to just two days in which Team India won and won the test match by 7 wickets. But this test match was the shortest test match in the history of cricket which had never happened in 140 years.
ICC’s big statement: After the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma described the pitch as not suitable for the game and strongly condemned the match officials. On which the ICC made a big statement regarding the Newlands pitch, gave the pitch an unsatisfactory rating and also took some strict actions.
Pitch Report: Chris Broad, who was playing the role of referee in this test match of India vs South Africa, gave the pitch report of Newlands to the ICC match officials. In the pitch report, Broad said that there was too much bounce in the pitch, which was causing a lot of difficulty in batting. Due to this bounce, some batsmen also got injured.
